Application and Precautions of Polymer Mud

Usually, the use of polymer mud process can ensure the smooth progress of the project construction under the following circumstances:

a. There are many geological layers of sand and sand eggs;

b. When the wall protection effect of making slurry with water or bentonite is not ideal;

c. The amount of sediment after hole formation is too large to meet the specification requirements, and the hole clearing time is relatively long;

d. High requirements for environmental protection, do not allow the occurrence of dust, prohibit the use of bentonite;

e. When the construction site in the city is narrow, it is not convenient to make a large mud pool or there is no site to pile up a large amount of bentonite;

f. Engineering projects in remote areas, where transportation costs and labor costs are high;

g. In cold areas, bentonite is easy to freeze, and bentonite preservation and pulping are difficult.

Advantages and disadvantages of polymer mud

A. advantages:

1. Low cost, less consumption, greatly reduce the pulping labor intensity, save labor cost;

I. Simple operation, fast pulping speed (generally within 5 minutes);

I. Low site requirements, the most obvious advantage in urban municipal engineering (especially in the site with narrow construction surface);

IV. Very low sand content, better slag control, is conducive to improving the quality of the pile;

V. Small specific gravity of mud can effectively reduce the difficulty of concrete perfusion;

V. High pulping rate, small size, easy to transport, significantly reduce the cost of pulping and transportation;

VI. In the geology of sand and egg beds, the pore-forming effect is obviously better than bentonite mud;

VI. There is no dust phenomenon in the pulping process, which meets the requirements of civilized construction and environmental protection construction.

B. Disadvantages:

1. Mud loss is slightly higher in geology with large pores or fractures that do not have a solid wall protection layer.

I. Mud has a small specific gravity and is not highly applicable in fluid plastic or loose geology.

(3) Polymer mud configuration ratio

General use ratio :0.1%~1%(according to geological conditions, groundwater characteristics, pile diameter, pile depth, water quality, temperature, as appropriate), it is required to be evenly sprinkled under full stirring conditions, not agglomerate or form a group.

Precautions for using polymer mud

  1. The appearance of polymer mud material is white fine particles or powder. It may not be transported by express or air.
  2. In general, polymer mud cannot be mixed with bentonite mud.
  3. Polymer mud materials shall be waterproof and moisture-proof when stored. Violent loading and unloading is prohibited to avoid damage to the outer package.
  4. If you are using polymer mud or non-polymer mud for the first time, please call a professional polymer mud manufacturer for detailed polymer mud preparation method.
